FAQs

The SkyBlue™ Alliance is a membership-based program designed to strengthen BIOS Lighting’s partnerships with OEMs and contract manufacturers. It promotes quality, compliance, and innovation across the wellness lighting industry by offering access to BIOS SkyBlue™ components and collaborative marketing and technical support.

The SkyBlue™ Alliance officially launches in July 2025. Registration opens in mid-June.

The program is open to contract manufacturers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and industry partners who integrate BIOS SkyBlue™ components into their lighting products and are committed to upholding BIOS’ quality, branding, and innovation standards.

There are two membership tiers:

  1. Independent SkyBlue™ Alliance Member
  2. Specified Supported SkyBlue™ Alliance Member

The Independent tier offers broader training around BIOS’ wellness lighting philosophy, includes a listing on BIOSLighting.com, and provides exclusive access to L1 technology (as well as L2 technology)

Specified Supported Members receive basic foundational support; however, they are required to specify their BIOS projects and are offered access to L2 technology only.

Independent Tier:
  • Initiation Fee: $7,500
  • Annual Renewal: $2,500

Specified Supported Tier:
  • Initiation Fee: $3,750
  • Annual Renewal: $1,250
Yes.
  • The initiation fee is waived if your company purchased more than $10,000 in BIOS components over the past 12 months.
  • The annual renewal fee is waived if purchases exceed $10,000 (excluding S&H) in the current program year.
  • In addition to the fee waiver for meeting this threshold, members will also be eligible for the Independent tier.
All members must:
  • Maintain BIOS product quality standards
  • Participate in BIOS product training
  • Follow the BIOS brand and IP guidelines
Specified Supported Members must also:
  • Register BIOS as the specified product on applicable lighting projects and register the same via BiosLigiting.com website (site provided upon registration).
Benefits include:
  • Access to BIOS SkyBlue™ components
  • Technical and design support
  • Assistance with WELL Building, GSA P100, RP-46-23, and IALD criteria
  • Co-marketing opportunities (website placement, case studies)
  • Access to Level 1 & 2 (L1 & L2) Technology for Independent members, access to Level 2 only (L2) for Specified members.
  • Priority application and marketing support for Specified members

Members will be listed as official SkyBlue™ Alliance partners, thereby increasing their visibility to specifiers, architects, and end-users.

You will be able to register online at Bioslighting-skyblue.com on our SkyBlue™ landing page. Please note it takes up to 5-10 business days to complete this process.

Yes. All members are required to sign a membership agreement, regardless of whether fees are waived. An agreement will be sent during the registration process, and the updated version will be distributed before the official program launch.

Please email skyblue.support@bioslighting.com or utilize our online support form, and we will be happy to assist you.

Yes. The program is open to both U.S.-based and international manufacturers, provided they can meet the quality and brand alignment standards required by BIOS.

Even low-volume partners are welcome to join. However, higher purchase volumes may qualify you for fee waivers and unlock additional benefits, such as co-marketing support.

While the program is designed primarily for lighting OEMs and contract manufacturers, integrators and strategic partners may also be eligible if they align with BIOS’s wellness and performance goals.

Training (Late Summer – Fall 2025) includes virtual onboarding sessions, access to technical documentation, installation guides, and periodic updates on BIOS SkyBlue™ component integration and firmware changes.

Alliance members receive access to BIOS’ engineering and applications team for assistance with product integration, design optimization, and certification pathways.

Please note that BIOS can provide elevated support, such as dedicated engineering resources or custom technical solutions, on an hourly or project-specific basis.

L1 Technology refers to PCB-mounted LED chips (Level 1 components) used to build Level 2 light engine boards.

Only Independent SkyBlue™ Alliance Members have access to L1 products for integration into their proprietary assemblies.

Independent Members may be featured on BIOSLighting.com, some newsletters, social media, and through project case studies. Some large-volume members may also be offered specific co-marketing opportunities.

Yes. Members can upgrade from Specified Supported to Independent status at any time by paying the difference in fees and committing to the broader Independent requirements and benefits. Please note that fees will not be prorated.

BIOS tracks component sales through direct and authorized distributor records, utilizing our internal accounting system, based on the invoice date and the amount (excluding shipping and handling fees).  If you believe your company qualifies for a fee waiver, please contact skyblue.support@bioslighting.com with supporting documentation (if requested).

For Specified Supported members, we will provide a dedicated form to submit project specification details. This enables us to monitor your progress and ensure that you receive proper support, visibility, and recognition within the SkyBlue Alliance program.
